Exercise – The Best Medicine for Depression

As someone with OCD and Clinical Depression, I can vouch for the fact, that we abuse food, and underutilize exercise.  Eating crappy food is just easier then going to the gym and exercising.  Also, when we are struggling with depression or having a "bad" day, it is so much easier to stay home and eat, then to get off the couch and exercise.  I know, been there and done that.  But like I have said before, there are no quick fixes for overcoming depression.  It takes work, lots of work.  Exercising takes work, but the benefits, in my experience are so much better, and cheaper than any depression medication that I have taken.

All I ask, is that you keep an open mind to the power that exercise can have in helping you with your depression.  As we enter a new year, keep an open mind.  I want 2013 to the best year for you, and I think trying to incorporate some exercise into your daily routine, will be a step in helping you make 2013, a great year!
